Internship

The Austrian Institute for Human Rights offers students and university graduates a look into the work of the Institute and a chance to learn and expand knowledge both of theory and practice, though the experience of an internship. This offer is open to all young people from all disciplines. Basic knowledge of the law is however an advantage.

Some of the internship tasks are helping edit the Human Rights Newsletter, working in the library and doing independent literature and jurisprudence research. Special knowledge or interests of the intern as well as current events can open further areas of work.

We expect commitment, interest and the ability to work independently. Interns must be fluent in German and either English or French. The internship should last at least four weeks. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a paid internship. We do however offer a look into the Austrian, European and international protection of human rights and the possibility of gaining valuable work experience. You can only profit through the agreeable and collegial work atmosphere and competent mentoring by a committed staff.

If you are interested in completing an internship, we would be excited to receive your important application. Please send your applications, with the usual documents, to the Austrian Institute for Human Rights by mail, or by email: contact.
